Lena Strohmaier was born in Waiblingen in 1991. She studied at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart and received her Bachelor's degree in Design, Art and Media with a specialization in Film and Video in August 2017. During an internship in 2016, she worked for six months at Bunbury Films in Montréal, Canada, as an editor and production assistant. She has been studying fiction directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2018 and achieved her diploma in 2026 with the fiction short film "H2GOLD". She also realised a documentary and works as a documentary filmmaker and editor.
