Julia Skala (she/her, *1997 in Wiesbaden, Germany)
is an illustrator, designer and director for animation.

Julia's 2d -animated short film SOMMERREGEN (2020) travelled to international filmfestivals including Manchester Animation Festival, Anim'est, CINANIMA and many more. Her new, graduation short film polliwog (2024) will premier in fall 2024.

Having graduated in spring 2024 as an animation director from the renowned Animationsinstitut of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Julia has also spent a semester studying handdrawn animation at Gobelins, l'école de l'image in Paris, France in 2021.
 
Julia can be booked as a freelance illustrator, concept artist, director or art director, 2d animator and live portrait artist for events.
