During her Bachelor of Graphic Design studies, Sara Shabani worked as a graphic designer, set designer, TV moderator, and theater actress in Tehran. Her graduation project, which was her first animation experimental experience (Bike, 2D, cut out with stop motion), was presented at numerous worldwide festivals such as Annecy, Tehran Animation Festival, Cyprus…
This experience brought a bigger passion to her artistic life: dynamic storytelling. She began working as a motion graphic designer and art director with studios and agencies. In 2015, the Cyprus Pharos Arts Foundation and London Orchid Classic chose her as one of the video artists to make an experimental animation for Alice in Wonderland/150th anniversary.
Her passion for telling cross-cultural stories brought her to the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany to study animation, where she’s been working as a creative director, and concept and look development artist on numerous projects.
For her diploma animated short fantasy film “Giant&theSeed”, she worked as a director, art director, and producer.
